Furane, also known as Tetrahydrofuran, is an organic chemical compound used in a variety of industries. It is used to produce solvents, resins, and plastics, and is also used as a curing agent in the rubber industry. It can also be used as a precursor to produce various drugs and other chemicals in the pharmaceutical industry.
When rubber is exposed to Furane, it can cause swelling, cracking, and discoloration of the rubber due to its reactivity. In extreme cases, the rubber can become brittle and break down completely, leading to leaks and failure of the seals. To minimize the risk of failure, rubber seals should be checked more frequently when exposed to Furane and replaced more often when necessary.
Markez ® high performance perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (FFKM) offer unmatched value for demanding sealing applications. Produced from nearly identical ingredients as higher priced brands, Markez ® compounds are used for high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings and chemical resistant o-rings that deliver similar performance to major FFKM brands, with temperature resistance up to 625oF, at a significantly lower cost. Our proprietary processing allow us to supply seals under an inch in size more efficiently. Introduced exclusively to existing customers over 15 years ago, we now have the experience and capacity to offer Markez ® high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings to the world.
