FLUOROCARBON OILS Resistant O-Rings and Seals

Fluorocarbon oils, also known as perfluorinated oils, are synthetic oils made from fluorinated hydrocarbons. They are commonly used as lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and as a cleaning agent in industrial processes. Fluorocarbon oils are also used in the electronics industry, in medical applications, and in the automotive industry.

When rubber is exposed to fluorocarbon oils, the rubber may become brittle and prone to cracking. The oils can also cause the rubber to swell, leading to a loss of elasticity and an inability to return to its original shape after being stretched. Additionally, repeated exposure to fluorocarbon oils can cause the rubber to degrade faster than normal, leading to a decrease in its physical properties.

EPDM (EP, EPR, Ethylene-Propylene Rubber)

EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with lower cost steam and chemical resistance, particularly for applications involving solvents, acids and other mild chemicals. Marco Rubber has the world’s largest inventory network of EPDM o-rings and made on demand custom manufacturing often without tooling fees, so the EPDM o-rings you need are always available. Whether it’s for water systems, braking systems, medical, pharmaceutical, food or dairy use, you can count on Marco Rubber to deliver your o-rings fast and efficiently.
