FC TOP35 stands for Fluorinated Carbon TOP35. It is also known as perfluoroalkyl polymer or PFPE, and is commonly used in the electronics, automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. It is a highly durable, chemical and temperature resistant material.
When rubber is exposed to FC TOP35, the rubber can become discolored, brittle, and cracked due to the chemical’s high levels of volatility. In addition, FC TOP35 can cause rubber seals to swell, leading to improper seal closure and a decrease in performance. Long-term exposure to this chemical can also lead to rubber degradation, resulting in cracks and tears in the rubber.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
