FC C316, also known as N-Octadecyltrimethyl Ammonium Bromide, is a quaternary ammonium surfactant. It is commonly used in various industrial applications such as detergents, emulsifiers, and disinfectants.
Rubber can be damaged by FC C316 due to its detergent properties which can cause swelling, cracking and degradation. Additionally, prolonged exposure to the chemical can lead to the rubber becoming brittle and prone to cracking. It is important to note that the effects of FC C316 can be greatly reduced or eliminated if the rubber is properly compounded and cured.
