FC BF, or fluoroelastomer, is a type of rubber that is highly resistant to chemicals and provides excellent heat and flame resistance. It is commonly used in the automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. When exposed to FC BF, rubber can suffer from cracking, swelling, and softening. This is due to the rubber’s strong affinity for hydrocarbons and fluorine, which can cause it to degrade over time. Additionally, the chemical makeup of the rubber can also react with the fluoroelastomer, leading to further degradation.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
