FC 31 Resistant O-Rings and Seals

FC 31 (Trifluoromethane) is also known as R-31 and is a refrigerant used in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It is also used as a propellant for aerosols and in other industrial applications.

When rubber is exposed to FC 31, it may cause swelling and softening of the rubber. This can lead to cracking and splitting of the rubber, as well as a decrease in the material's strength. Over time, the rubber may become brittle, discolored, or sticky and can lead to leaks or breakdown of the rubber material. In extreme cases, the rubber can be completely dissolved by the FC 31.

EPDM (EP, EPR, Ethylene-Propylene Rubber)

EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with lower cost steam and chemical resistance, particularly for applications involving solvents, acids and other mild chemicals. Marco Rubber has the world’s largest inventory network of EPDM o-rings and made on demand custom manufacturing often without tooling fees, so the EPDM o-rings you need are always available. Whether it’s for water systems, braking systems, medical, pharmaceutical, food or dairy use, you can count on Marco Rubber to deliver your o-rings fast and efficiently.
