ETHYLENE GLYCOL ETHYL ETHER ACETATE Resistant O-Rings and Seals
Ethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate, also known as EGEEA or Cellosolve Ethyl Ether Acetate, is an organic solvent used in a variety of industries, including paint, coatings, adhesive, and rubber manufacturing. It is also an ingredient in printing inks and a laboratory reagent.
When rubber is exposed to ethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate, it can cause softening and swelling of the rubber, leading to cracking. Additionally, prolonged contact with this chemical can cause discoloration, embrittlement, and ultimately loss of strength and integrity of the rubber.
