ESSTIC 42, 43, also known as ESSO XP900EP Lubricant, is a semi-synthetic lubricant used primarily in the automotive industry. It is used for lubricating metal components, reducing noise, and providing protection against rust and corrosion. Common uses for this lubricant also include lubricating components for off-road vehicles, marine applications, and general industrial and manufacturing purposes.
When rubber is exposed to ESSTIC 42, 43, it can suffer from swelling, cracking, and discoloration. Swelling occurs when the lubricant is absorbed by the rubber, causing it to become spongy and expand. Cracking can occur when the lubricant penetrates the rubber and causes it to become brittle. Discoloration can also occur as a result of the lubricant's reaction with the rubber.
