Esso Transmission Fluid, Type A, is a petroleum-based transmission fluid used in manual and automatic transmissions of vehicles. It is also used in certain industrial applications, such as hydraulics and in some construction and agriculture applications.
When rubber is exposed to Esso Transmission Fluid, Type A, the rubber may become brittle and lose its flexibility. This can be especially problematic when the rubber is in a seal or gasket, as it can lead to leakage or a complete failure of the seal or gasket. Additionally, exposure to this transmission fluid can cause discoloration and a decrease in the strength of the rubber material. To avoid these problems, rubber materials should be chosen carefully and regularly inspected for signs of degradation.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
