Dow Corning 200 is a fluorosilicone fluid also known as Dow Corning 1265, HexaFluoropropylene Vinylidene Fluoride (HFPVDF) Copolymer or Fluorosilicone Copolymer. It is a low viscosity, non-reactive liquid used in a variety of industries for applications such as lubricants, coatings, adhesives and sealants.
When exposed to Dow Corning 200, rubber materials may suffer from a variety of failures. These include softening, swelling, cracking, discoloration, and loss of strength. In some cases, rubber may become brittle or may break down and degrade into a sticky, gummy residue. In addition, certain rubber materials may suffer from accelerated aging when exposed to Dow Corning 200.
