Diethylbenzene, also known as DEB, is a common aromatic organic compound used in the production of various industrial chemicals. Common uses of DEB include the production of gasoline, solvents, and lubricants.
When rubber components are exposed to DEB, they can become brittle and susceptible to cracking, leading to a decrease in sealing capabilities. Additionally, the rubber can become subject to swelling, cracking, and hardening, which can lead to a decrease in flexibility and tear strength. Over time, the rubber can also become discolored and brittle due to the presence of DEB, resulting in a decrease in reliability.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
