Diethyl Sebacate, also known as DES, is a chemical compound used in the production of plastics and rubber products. Common uses of DES include plasticizers, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and printing inks.
When rubber components are exposed to DES, the rubber can become overly soft and sticky. This can lead to a decrease in tensile strength and, over time, the rubber can begin to swell and degrade. Additionally, the rubber can become more susceptible to compression set and permanent deformation, leading to a decrease in sealing capabilities. Over time, the rubber can also become brittle and break down due to the presence of DES, resulting in a decrease in reliability.
Markez ® high performance perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (FFKM) offer unmatched value for demanding sealing applications. Produced from nearly identical ingredients as higher priced brands, Markez ® compounds are used for high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings and chemical resistant o-rings that deliver similar performance to major FFKM brands, with temperature resistance up to 625oF, at a significantly lower cost. Our proprietary processing allow us to supply seals under an inch in size more efficiently. Introduced exclusively to existing customers over 15 years ago, we now have the experience and capacity to offer Markez ® high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings to the world.
