Cyclohexanone is also known as oxohexanone and is commonly used as a solvent in the production of paints, coatings, and adhesives. It is also used in the production of pharmaceuticals and fragrances.
When rubber is exposed to cyclohexanone, it can cause the rubber to become brittle and harden. This can lead to cracks, crumbling, and other forms of damage in the rubber material, which can reduce its effectiveness and ultimately result in a failure. Additionally, cyclohexanone can cause rubber to swell and become softer, which can reduce its durability and cause it to degrade more quickly.
