CROTONIC ACID Resistant O-Rings and Seals
CROTONIC ACID is also known as Butyric Acid. It is commonly used as a flavor enhancer and preservative in food, as well as in the production of coatings, adhesives, and pharmaceuticals.
When rubber is exposed to CROTONIC ACID, it can cause the rubber to swell and become brittle, leading to failure in the rubber part. Additionally, the chemical can cause discoloration of the rubber and cause it to degrade over time, leading to failure in the rubber part. The chemical can also cause oxidation of the rubber, which can lead to further degradation and eventual failure.
