Chlorosulfonic acid, also known as sulfochlorination acid, is an organic compound used in a variety of industries, such as the production of pesticides, dyes, and pharmaceuticals. It is also used in the production of polymers and other synthetic chemicals.
When exposed to chlorosulfonic acid, rubber material can experience swelling, cracking and hardening. The chemical can also cause the rubber to become brittle and break down over time, leading to structural failure. Additionally, the rubber material can become sticky and tacky, reducing its performance and leading to seal failure. Chlorosulfonic acid can also cause discoloration and degradation of the rubber’s physical properties, such as its tensile strength, elongation, and tear strength.
Markez ® high performance perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (FFKM) offer unmatched value for demanding sealing applications. Produced from nearly identical ingredients as higher priced brands, Markez ® compounds are used for high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings and chemical resistant o-rings that deliver similar performance to major FFKM brands, with temperature resistance up to 625oF, at a significantly lower cost. Our proprietary processing allow us to supply seals under an inch in size more efficiently. Introduced exclusively to existing customers over 15 years ago, we now have the experience and capacity to offer Markez ® high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings to the world.
