Chlorobenzene Chloride, also known as ortho-dichlorobenzene, is an organic compound used in a variety of industrial applications. It is primarily used as a solvent, a precursor for other chemicals, and a fuel additive. It is also used to manufacture rubber and plastics, dyes and coatings, and pharmaceuticals.
When rubber is exposed to chlorobenzene chloride, it can cause swelling and softening of the material. This can lead to an increase in permeability to water, and a decrease in tensile strength and elasticity. Additionally, prolonged exposure to chlorobenzene chloride can cause discoloration and fading of the rubber due to the chlorine compound in the chemical. High temperatures can cause the rubber to become brittle, leading to cracking and breaking down.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
