CHLOROACETONE Resistant O-Rings and Seals
Chloroacetone, also known as 2-chloro-2-propanone, is a colorless liquid with a sharp and unpleasant smell. It is used as an intermediate in the production of dyes, fragrances, and pharmaceuticals. When rubber is exposed to chloroacetone, it can cause the rubber to become brittle, swell, and degrade. This can lead to seal failures or weakened seals. Additionally, chloroacetone can cause the rubber to discolor or stain if it is not properly protected.
