China wood oil, also known as tung oil, is a drying oil obtained from the nuts of the tung tree. It is used in a variety of products, such as furniture, flooring, and paint. In addition, it is also used as a food additive and as a base for traditional Chinese medicine.
Rubber exposed to China wood oil can become brittle and prone to cracking due to the hardening effect of the oil. The rubber may also become swollen, leading to a loss of elasticity. In addition, the rubber may become sticky and discolored. In extreme cases, China wood oil can cause the rubber to break down and become unusable.
