Caustic Lime, also known as Calcium Hydroxide or Slaked Lime, is a chemical compound commonly used in many industrial processes such as water treatment, paper production, construction, and textiles. It is also used in the production of soaps, detergents, and cosmetics. In terms of rubber, caustic lime can cause premature aging and cracking of the rubber due to its alkaline properties. In extreme cases, caustic lime can even cause rubber to become brittle and break down, leading to complete failure.
