Bleach solutions are a mixture of sodium hypochlorite and salt water. They are commonly used as a disinfectant and cleaning agent in a variety of industries such as healthcare, food production, and commercial cleaning.
When rubber is exposed to bleach solutions, it can experience a number of different types of failures. The most common type of failure is cracking and weakening of the rubber due to the oxidation caused by the hypochlorite present in the solution. Additionally, exposure to bleach solutions can cause discoloration and premature aging of the rubber due to the presence of chlorine. Other types of failures include embrittlement, hardening of the rubber, and decreased flexibility.
