Black liquor is a common byproduct of the paper and pulp industries. It is a thick, dark liquid composed of lignin and other organic compounds. When rubber is exposed to black liquor, it can cause softening or swelling, leading to a decrease in tensile strength and potential failure. In addition, black liquor can cause discoloration and can lead to premature aging of the rubber material.
