Beryllium fluoride is also known as beryllium oxide and is commonly used in industrial processes such as the production of ceramics, glass, and alloys. It is also used in the production of semiconductors, electronics, and in the aerospace industry.
When rubber is exposed to beryllium fluoride, it can suffer from a number of different types of failures. These can include cracking or breaking, discoloration, and premature aging due to the chemical's corrosive nature. Additionally, the chemical can cause the rubber to become brittle, which can lead to excessive wear and tear.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
