Beef Tallow Emulsion, Sulphonated is a type of emulsifier made from sulphonated beef tallow, a by-product of the meat industry. It is used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in food products, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
When exposed to this chemical, rubber materials can begin to experience swelling, blistering, and softening. Additionally, the rubber may become brittle or tacky and may experience a discoloration. As with any rubber material, it is important to use the appropriate material for the chemical environment when designing rubber components.
