AMYL ACETATE Resistant O-Rings and Seals
AMYL ACETATE is also known as Pentyl Acetate, Ethyl Pentylate and Amyl Ethanoate. This chemical is commonly used as a solvent in various industries such as paint, coating, ink and adhesive manufacturing. It is also used as a flavoring agent and fragrance in food and beverage products.
When rubber is exposed to Amyl Acetate, it can suffer from swelling, softening, discoloration and cracking. The rubber can also become brittle and fragile due to the solvating properties of the chemical. The rubber may also be prone to losing its shape and suffering from adhesion failure.
