Ammonium Phosphate, Monobasic, also known as Monoammonium Phosphate, is a commonly used chemical in many industries, such as agriculture, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. It is used as a fertilizer, a food preservative, and a buffer.
Exposure of rubber to Monoammonium Phosphate can cause a number of issues, including physical degradation, swelling, and softening. Physical degradation can occur due to the chemical's acidic nature; swelling can occur due to the chemical's hygroscopic properties; and softening can occur due to the chemical's solubility. In addition, rubber materials can be subject to cracking, discoloration, and other forms of deterioration if exposed to high concentrations of Monoammonium Phosphate for an extended period of time.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
