Ammonium phosphate dibasic, also known as monobasic ammonium phosphate and diammonium hydrogen phosphate, is a white, water-soluble solid that is used as a fertilizer, pH buffer, and fire retardant. It is used in various industries such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and food production.
When rubber is exposed to ammonium phosphate dibasic, the rubber material may become brittle due to a reaction between the ammonium ions and the rubber material. Additionally, the rubber may swell and crack due to a reaction between the acidic phosphate group and the rubber material. Prolonged exposure to ammonium phosphate dibasic can also result in a decrease in the rubber's mechanical properties such as its elasticity, strength, and tear resistance.
