Ammonium hydroxide, grade 2 is also known as aqua ammonia, ammonium hydrate, ammoniacal liquor, ammoniacal solution, ammonia water, and ammonia liquor. It is a colorless liquid commonly used as a cleaning agent, buffer, and in the production of fertilizers, explosives, and other chemicals. It is also used in paper and textile processing, water treatment, and as a pH adjuster.
When rubber is exposed to ammonium hydroxide, grade 2, the rubber can become brittle and brittle fracture can occur. The rubber can also swell and become distorted. The rubber can also become soft and may even become tacky. Additionally, the rubber can become discolored and the strength of the rubber can be reduced. Finally, the rubber can become less resistant to heat, oxidation, and ultraviolet light.
EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with lower cost steam and chemical resistance, particularly for applications involving solvents, acids and other mild chemicals. Marco Rubber has the world’s largest inventory network of EPDM o-rings and made on demand custom manufacturing often without tooling fees, so the EPDM o-rings you need are always available. Whether it’s for water systems, braking systems, medical, pharmaceutical, food or dairy use, you can count on Marco Rubber to deliver your o-rings fast and efficiently.
