AMBREX 830, also known as 1,2,6-triethyl-4-methylcyclohexane, is a solvent used mainly in the automotive and surfactant industries. It is also found in some household cleaning products. When rubber is exposed to AMBREX 830, it can lead to swelling and softening of the rubber material, which can result in distortion of the rubber shape and loss of sealing properties. The chemical can also cause the rubber to become brittle, leading to cracking and eventual failure.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
