PLATING SOLUTION, ZINC Resistant O-Rings and Seals
Zinc Plating Solution is commonly known as Zinc Electroplating and is used in a variety of industries from automotive to electronics. It is used to create a protective coating over metal surfaces to protect against corrosion and oxidation.
Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to Zinc Plating Solution include discoloration, cracking, and swelling. The zinc can cause the rubber to become discolored due to a reaction between the rubber and the zinc. Cracking can occur due to the zinc making the rubber brittle, resulting in cracking and tearing over time. Additionally, the rubber may swell due to the absorption of the zinc, leading to deformation and a weakened bond between the rubber and the surface it is bonded to.
