The OEM seal was extruding from the o-ring groove \u2014 causing short seal life and catastrophic failure during operation.<\/p>\n<h2>The Solution: Careful Analysis for Long-Term Performance<\/h2>\n<p>Our engineering experts examined the application and found that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marcorubber.com\/o-ring-groove-design-considerations.htm\">o-ring groove<\/a> dimensions and inconsistencies were causing the seal to be more vulnerable to extrusion and damage during assembly.<\/p>\n<p>We made recommendations to modify the groove to be more reliable while <a href=\"\/case-study-solving-a-high-pressure-seal-need\/\">under extreme pressures<\/a>. Alterations in size to the o-ring were also recommended to compensate for the increased pressure loads.<\/p>\n<h2>The Result: A Long-Lasting O-Ring Groove Design<\/h2>\n<p>After manufacturing and testing the proposed solution, the new o-rings were found to function perfectly within assembly and testing conditions.
